Year 4

In Year 4 children enter their second year in Key Stage 2. They are encouraged to become even more independent in their learning in a fun, supportive and creative atmosphere. During the year children are encouraged to reflect on their own learning and progress asking, ‘What did I do well?’ and ‘How can I improve next time?’

The children are given many opportunities to be creative across the curriculum while also developing key skills and knowledge.

Our topics this year begin with ‘Rock to Heavy Metal’ where the children learn about the Stone Age through to the Iron Age. During the Spring Term the children develop their geography skills looking at how rivers are formed and carry out a river study at a local site.

We finish the year with ‘Fantastic Pharaohs’ where we travel back in time to look at life in ancient Egypt.
