Year 6
Our aim in Class 6 is for the children to have a creative, challenging and enjoyable final year at Hartwell Primary School. As the oldest children in the school, Year 6 pupils take on many positions of responsibility: organising events, leading School Council and helping prepare whole school assemblies.
We stress the importance of greater independence and organisation in preparation for their move to secondary school. Through-out the year we have great fun studying exciting topics including: The Tudors, Rainforests and the Local Environment.
In the Spring Term, children take their SATs test in numeracy and literacy- the children work very hard but thrive in a competitive but very supportive environment. Class 6 are expected to be role models for the whole school, their enthusiasm, ambition, good manners and school pride set the standards for the whole school and we are always very proud of their achievements.
